Tips and Tricks to a Successful RPG

1. Good Presentation-Just like advertisements, you want your site to be appealing to the eye. If there are too many odd neon colors and bright colors, your site isn't going to be appealing to the eye and people won't find it professional in the way that the site is organized.

2. Advertising-Get and affiliate button and affiliate with as many other sites as you can. Try to find ways to add your link to search sites.

3. Organization and Leadership-Keep your site well organized and display great leadership. Do what I call "member maintenance" regularly when you first start you site. This means go through the members and decide on which ones are inactive, and which ones are active. I consider one month of no RP posting and/or one month of no logging in to be inactive on my site. For moderators such as Leaders, Deputies, and Medicine Cats (or whoever your moderators are), I consider 2 weeks (higher moderators, like Leaders) or 3 weeks (lower moderators, like Deputies and Medicine Cats)to be inactivity. Email your inactive members and give them a little bit of time to respond before deleting them. Also do mentor/apprentice activity checks. For leadership you want to get your members' opinion, but if you act as if you are just another member on the site and don't make some leadership decisions, then you might not get as much respect and find that more people are careless when it comes to the rules.

4. Maturity-Don't be using chatspeak all the time and use correct grammar! With the role of leadership you need to know what you're doing, if you talk like you are educated and somewhat responsible, you will obtain more respect and at least sound like you know what you're doing.

5. Activeness-If a guest sees that moderators are on quite a bit and that there's usually at least one member online on your site, then they'll want to join. No one wants to join a site that'll just sit there. Help activity by frequent member maintenance.

6.Interactivity-When your site is just starting, whenever a new member joins, PM them and welcome them. Ask if they have any questions, get to know them a bit. Interact with them. This way they'll feel like they've been accepted into the site and that the site is rather active.

Quick FYI-Often sites will be active for a bit, then die. Don't delete you site yet if it does this. Some sites, such as mine, will revive later on. It's going to take a little bit before your site becomes successful.
